An attempt to justify the lack of content..
Please make sure to check out my friend Heuristics Inc’s new Album-in-a-day: A Flash in the Pan.
Also, the latest remixfight (voting should be over by now) has a Dr. Kong entry. I’ll post it here shortly.
I‘m posting this from my new Wii!!
uh. I broke my own cardinal rule and created a myspace account because i needed to send somebody a message.
Anyway, don’t ask me to be your friend. I don’t want any friends. I even deleted Tom.
UPDATE (10/24/07): FYI, my myspace account got deleted for some reason, so don’t bother looking for it!
I am starting work at the UTC SimCenter in June! I’ll start taking graduate courses towards a Computational Engineering Ph.D. in the fall.
I’ve been studying fluid dynamics and brushing up on some advanced math material to prepare for classes in the fall, and I have to say I’m more excited about this work than the computer science I was hoping to do last year.
I’m starting earlier than I had thought, so I think this Starfinger album might become a Starfinger EP.
Anyway, that’s what’s up.
As of yesterday, I have officially applied for UTC’s Computational Engineering Program, as a Ph.D. student.
It’s funny how things work out. This is so different from what I was trying to do last year, but in many ways it’s a better fit for me. I’ve had several conversations with faculty in the department, and it feels like it’s meant to be.
The obligatory theological twist: I feel like God has led us here to Chattanooga, and it may be that this program is the reason why. Regardless of how this works out, I know His will is perfect, and His plan is in full effect. So, I cannot lose!
The obligatory musical twist: My goal for a while now has been to do a Starfinger album. I’m dedicating the next 6 months or so to completing that, before my potential schooling starts. I have a concept that I’m very excited about, but I am going to try to wait until the whole thing is finished before I make it public. On the other hand, I will also probably try to solicit some help from my various songfighting cohorts. So a lot of my loyal readers will probably be in the know sooner rather than later.
Word up!
It is an exciting time!
Wow, I’m a slacker.
Hope everybody out there is doing good. I have a new songfight coming up soon, featuring my new synth: the Moog Little Phatty.
Lots of other stuff going on around here. Perhaps one day I will relate it to you.
I’ve been going through the FM8 manual, and this description entertained me:
Mouth controls the Talk Wah frequency. Turning counter-clockwise gives an “oooo” sound; moving it toward center morphs into more of an “aah” sound, while going further to the right morphs into more of an “eee” sound.
Size adjusts the size of the “virtual mouth.” When counterclockwise, the mouth is small, like that of a midget. When clockwise, it’s like a giant’s mouth.
Thanks for the colorful description, NI!
Hey, I thought I’d break this awkward blog silence with the following amazing news:
I just caught a fly with chopsticks!
Talk to you later.
Anyway, I hope everybody is doing good.
